Boating Accident & High Speed Mishap

TheBoaters.TV EP 34 – Happy Labor Day, Boaters! First up, we have news on a boating accident that occurred due to unsafe boating practices.

On Aug 17th, while John Fiegel was participating in a poker-run in Destin, Florida, his Sunsation powerboat hit what he called an “irregular wave set” and become airborne, injuring himself and another of his three passengers. Fiegel called the occurrence a “freak accident” …Mind you, he was going about 70 mph at the time.

This story was reported by Andrew Gant of the North West Florida Daily News, and the full video can be found on their website at http://www.nwfdailynews.com/article/8695

We wish all who were injured a speedy and full recovery and hopefully this is a boating mishap we can all take a lesson from.

In today’s “Ship of Fools” segment, we have a more lighthearted look at why it’s wise to watch your speed on the water. The real danger involved in having a boat that goes too fast (hint: hold on to your…clothes).

This video is actually a commercial for the eTec from Evinrude, and it can be found on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwEE3L…

Finally today, we take a peek at Sunny Ledfurd’s music video for his highly acclaimed single “Pontoon Boat.”

This video was shot on Labor Day 2006 on Lake Norman in North Carolina (sorry, I said South in the video!). Watch the full version of Sunny Ledfurd’s video on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou3AHu…
